Updates...
I hate them having Bree on so many meds. I can't remember if I reported that they took her off the neurotin or not, but they did. She had a bad reaction to it. So she is off neurotin now and on phenobarb... BUT it completely sedates her so they say she can take it at night only. BUT I've done research, checked it on Drugs.com with her other meds and all of the meds they have Bree on can interact with each other. I just don't know what to do anymore. She is on four different meds now. I don't know that it's safe, I don't know that it's going to do any good. The doctor assures me that he is monitoring her. She is having blood drawn often (right now weekly) so they can catch any problems until they get things under control. The side effects are almost unbearable though. Her hands are so shaky she can't even hold a fork to feed herself (Yes, she is trying to eat again although with the drug side effects she spills more then she gets to eat). We still don't know when she will leave the hospital. They kept her seizures somewhat under control yesterday but only with an IV drip. The phenobarb seemed to help last night, she had only 2 seizures. Trileptal and Phenobarb have replaced neurontin but can interact with her other two meds. And each other. Plus the side effects. I don't want her on so many meds. If we could find just one that would work, or maybe it really is time to just consider surgery now no matter how scary it is. I just worry she's not strong enough for it.
