Home tomorrow

Bree is going to get to go home tomorrow. I hope. That's what the doctor says anyway, although she is having awful side effects from the meds. I can manage all that at home, but it is really scary/unnerving. In fact I'm often left to wonder "Is this from the seizures or brain injury or is it from her medication?" The phenobarb side effects are NOT good. She had balance problems before going on it. Now it's 10 times worse. She is slurring her words sometimes or getting words confused. This morning it took her almost five minutes to come up with the word fork as in "Mom, could you please hand me my..." Yes, the good news is her seizures have decreased somewhat but at what cost? She is feeling better physically, her kidney infection is MUCH better, she is off the feeding tube and off the central line and pretty much eating what she wants to. She still is very withdrawn and depressed though so I hope she can talk with her therapist on Wednesday, maybe that will help. Maybe being back with her family will help as well.
