Bree's new doctors want us to start to wean her off all her current meds. Naturally I'm very nervous about doing this. Of course her seizures are pretty bad now but how will she be when we cut down her meds and if she is off some of them completely by August 24th? But they pointed out to me that it is unsafe - and can even cause her to have more seizures, to mix some some of the meds she is currently on. So, we have begun the process of weaning her off her seizure meds. They plan to put her on something entirely different - try her on just one drug and we need to have her meds out of her system.
I worry so much about her. She is going through so much with the post traumatic stress disorder. So much of her past memories that she repressed are coming back to her, which is good because the therapist can help her work through it and deal with her emotions and heal emotionally. But it's just going to take awhile. She is so traumatized. Dealing with that and the epilepsy that most likely resulted from this head injury from the abuse, the poor kid has a lot on her plate and she breaks down a lot. But we will just love her and take care of her no matter what, whether or not she can live an independent life one day or will always need some type of care we love her and that will never change. We will make sure she is taken care of.
