Mystery of non-ripening veggies?

Our veggies are not getting ripe. At least not the tomatoes or peppers. Only one of the banana peppers have gotten ripe this year so far. Not a single tomato, and here it is August. Other people I talk to seem to have the same problem though. Fresh from the garden tomatoes is one of the things we look forward to most, though! Veggies are the one thing Bree will really eat pretty good (Different from most teenagers, I know) and growing your own is better, and cheaper when you have a large family. Usually we grow enough to get us through winter and fall, and I can them and make my own homemade soups in the cold fall and winter months. We also freeze corn on the cob and other veggies, and keep potatoes in cool storage. It looks like this year we won't have a good crop. We are getting lots of rain, but it is also cooler then usual, or July was.
Bree is having a rough morning. She had 3 seizures over night and she has had 2 this morning but it's not just that - she is confused and says she is in pain and she keeps "losing" people if they leave the room. It's like she thinks they've left her forever. It's one of those days where we can't leave her in the room by herself. I've tried to distract her by getting her to help me out with some of the chores like folding laundry or sweeping the floor but she has shaking so bad in her hands/arms from the meds that she has trouble. In fact I think everything this morning is side effects from the medication. Those medicines can really mess with one's mind.
