Here in Augusta
And "here" is not where Bree wants to be. She wants to go home. She is so tired of doctors. I don't blame her, she's been in and out of doctor's office, pretty much every week since April now, poor girl and has been hospitalized twice for about two weeks at a time each time. It feels like she is giving up, because they haven't been able to put a stop to her seizures. We're going to discuss the vagus nerve stimulator which will mean another hospitalization and another surgery (She had her tonsils removed in March). I wish for her to have a life free of doctors and tests and seizures, definitely seizures. I wish for her life to be free of the frustrations she feels with her brain injury, of not being able to find words when she needs them, her balance issues. The problems she has with judgement and everything else. It breaks my heart when she calls herself "stupid" for spilling her water, when that happens to any one of us. Because she's not stupid. She just struggles now with some of her skills. Her new PT is wonderful, patient, and Bree likes her so hopefully she can teach her ways around this. Her counselor works on the self esteem issues and is helping her with anxiety/depression/everything else. And we give her all the love we can. She is such a sweet and loving girl.
