Chilly weather, and other updates

It was only in the 40's here today. A chilly, rainy, grey day. But we ventured out to the farmer's market anyway and it was great, they had a live band which Bree enjoyed listening to. After the week she has had she deserves some enjoyment. After that we went to the library and then downtown to hit one of the store's sales. She picked out two new jackets (the girl is addicted to jackets, I swear!) and we got such a good deal on them. I also picked out a new one, and got one for the other two girls as well. They will be nice and warm for the chilly fall days ahead.
Bree is not feeling well now - achy all over, sore throat, sneezy. I sure hope she isn't coming down with something because she is supposed to get her H1N1 flu shot next week. And if she is sick, she can't get it. And if she is sick I hope it's not the swine flu. Either way when she's sick she has more seizures. Especially if she is running a fever.
Her abuser is behind bars now in the state women's prison. Here is hoping she will serve out her long sentence. We want to put all of this behind us now and help Bree heal and heal ourselves. She has bonded so well to us, we are now Mom and Dad to her and she seems so attached to us. She has had some horrible nightmares this past week about being taken away from us, all we can do is reassure her that she is ours forever.
Hopefully I can get back to updating daily again. We go back to the neurologist this week on the 22nd and we want to discuss the vagus nerve stimulator surgery. Bree has decided herself that she thinks she wants to consider it to see if it will decrease her seizures because she hasn't had much luck with the new meds yet. It's so hard to see her go through all of this... I just wish her meds would help her more. The doctor mentioned adding something else and trying a vitamin supplement so we'll see....
