We got our water back Monday night - the pipe that leads out from the holding tank had frozen. It is wonderful to have running water again! Now on to our day to day struggles and trying to get Bree's seizures under control. She had 3 last night. She had a pretty bad nightmare too. She also struggled in PT yesterday, or the speech therapy part of her therapy. She became upset and frustrated. She loves her therapists and she wants so much to please them. She wants to please everyone, and she still doesn't see that her working and trying so hard pleases them. She wants so much to always have the "Right" answer.
She also wants to do exactly what her sisters do (even if they shouldn't be doing it). They have been trying to slide across this huge stretch of ice in our driveway which is dangerous for anyone. Imagine how dangerous for Bree, who has balance issues anyway. I keep catching her trying to do it. I'm so worried she will break an arm or leg, but if she were to hit her head that would be so much worse because she can't afford any more head trauma. I know she wants to have fun. And she deserves to have fun. It's one thing to let her sled and play in the snow but I have to draw the line somewhere. I also know I can't just put her in a bubble and protect her forever. That's why even though she's had some tumbles down our stairs, I still let her go up and down them alone (Sometimes holding my breath). I just have to keep telling her to hold on to the banister, or if it's a very bad day for her balance I do insist that someone walk beside her.
Today she has been seizure free and begging to eat at Taco Bell. That girl has them wrapped around her little finger, they will substitute chicken for beef in every single dish there. In the Volcano Tacos, crunch wrap supreme, anything she wants chicken in they will give her. So refreshing to find such nice customer service nowadays.
