Update

Oh what a hard post to write. Sorry I didn't write sooner. Bree remains our miracle girl, but she does have a lot to overcome and faces a lot. She did have a mild stroke. I can't remember all I said in my last update but she did have an aneurysm that ruptured. In her surgery yesterday they went in through an incision in her leg, threaded a catheter to her brain to the site of the broken vessel, and stopped the bleeding. They inserted a coil there to repair the ruptured artery. They then checked for further bleeding and other weak vessels in her brain, and did another angiogram to check the placement of the coil. It was hours of waiting with no word for us.
A nurse finally came to tell us she was in recovery and they were holding pressure to stop the bleeding at the site where the catheter went in. It had taken 45 min to stop the bleeding and she would need to stay another hour there. She left before we could ask many questions. She returned about 20 minutes later to say Bree was unresponsive, not following commands. We begged to see her. Well, when she saw me and lil Bee her eyes lit up and she began to try to follow their commands. Some she didn't really understand.
So here is where we stand: She wasn't able to speak for several hours but she started to talk again late last night. Her speech is a bit slower now and her sentences are short 2-3 words, but we will take that. She will improve over time. Her voice is quieter and softer then ever but I think that's from a bit of nervousness. She is having trouble with balance especially walking but PT is working with her. Balance is nothing new but it's even worse now. She wasn't able to walk last night but she took 3 steps with help today. She is having to relearn a few skills such as feeding herself with a spoon and fork, but this girl is determined and doesn't give up so she will get there.
We aren't sure when she will come home but since we have a nurse living with us (lil Bee) We hope that it's Sunday or Monday. They want her to be able to get around better. Seizure wise she didn't have any yesterday or last night but they had her doped up on seizure meds thru the IV.
Will do another update tomorrow.
