Bree's new medication schedule is a little confusing. We started the new drug yesterday, which I thought the nurse said she needed 3 times a day. But the instructions on the bottle says she takes it once a day for 2 weeks, and then twice a day a day after that. The pills are chewable and she hates the taste. I called the doctor to confirm and they told me that yes, she needs to take it once a day for two weeks and then twice a day after that. The potential side effects are frightening. She felt sick last night which I'm sure is a side effect from the medicine, she has always been sensitive to medication's side effects.
It can also make seizures worse in a small number of people, which we don't want at all so we will have to watch closely.
Maybe we should consider surgery after all. It's just so hard to know what's right.
