Awful night/morning.

It was a horrible night. Wednesday wasn't all that bad for Bree, except she had a small seizure when they did the flashing light testing on her - when the light got very intense. Except about when night fell she got very upset. She was tired of being "restrained" to that machine. Stuck in bed and not allowed to really walk around. She wasn't eating. She needs to eat to keep her strength up, but eating is a battle with her anyway, sometimes. That's how I know the ketogenic diet would never be a treatment option for her. Some days she eats great, some days nothing at all. But I'm getting off the subject here.
She had another awful seizure in the early morning hours, between 4:30 and 5:00 am. And she had 2 smaller ones during the night before that. She'd been so upset and anxious before that they finally gave her a mild sedative around midnight and she fell asleep. With this seizure, not only did she stop breathing (common for her) but her blood pressure and heart rate dropped. We literally almost lost her. They had to give her meds in her IV to bring it back up.
Now she's struggling to come out of it. She has fluid on her lungs (she probably aspirated) and the nurses gave her a breathing treatment around 7 am. She will look around the room and turn her head to voices. She'll squeeze your hand if you hold hers. She'll look at you if you talk to her and turn her head if she hears her favorite songs. But other then that she's basically unresponsive. Her doctor says that they will probably go ahead and evaluate all her test results and start figuring out what meds to try first. She just can't go on like this. She is scheduled for a CAT scan any minute now so she will get her wish to be disconnected from the EEG machine, at least temporarily. Oh god she's having another seizure I've got to go.
